Korean Language

The Korean language is a language spoken by more than 70 million people worldwide. It is the official language of both North and South Korea, with different standardized forms used in each country. It is also one of the two official languages of Yanbian, China, where there are about 700,000 Korean speakers. The language itself is agglutinative in its morphology and SOV in its syntax. Like Japanese and Vietnamese, Korean has borrowed much vocabulary from the native Chinese languages through close contacts with China over thousands of years. The large grammatical particles which typify SOV languages are absent in Korean, making it resemble verb-final languages like English.
