Tajik Language

Tajik is an Iranian language spoken in Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and other Central Asian countries. It was also once recognized as the official language of the country of Tajikistan. The language is closely related to Uzbek and is a part of the Indo-Iranian group of languages. Tajik has two major dialects: "Eastern" and "Western". Eastern Tajik is considered the standard form of the language. The language is highly influenced by Persian and Arabic, with many loan words coming from these languages.
