Kirghiz Language

The Kirghiz language is a Turkic language spoken in Russia, China, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. The language has about 4 million speakers. It is written with the Cyrillic alphabet. The first Kirghiz-language works date back to the 16th century. In the 19th century and early 20th century, Russian was the official language of the region, and it was used in schools, courts, and government offices. This period is called Old Kyrgyz.
