Hungarian Language

The Hungarian language is a Uralic language, spoken by more than 14 million people in Hungary and by other communities in the neighboring countries of Romania, Slovakia and Ukraine. It belongs to the Ugric branch of the Finno-Ugric languages. The closest living relatives of Hungarian are Mansi and Khanty, with which it forms the Ugric branch of the Uralic family. Due to its similarities with several European languages (namely English) Hungarian is often referred to as a "fantastic bridge" to Europe.
